Notice to Residents – Street Ponding in the District

Dear Residents:

The Board of Directors of the District has been notified of resident concerns related to street ponding during and after recent intense rainfall events. We acknowledge and understand these concerns, but please note that this temporary street ponding is by design. According to the District’s engineer, the street ponding is part of the District’s overall drainage system. The water flows to the streets, to the collection system, to the ponds, to the receiving streams, and finally to the Brazos River. If the collection system is overwhelmed, which occurs during intense storm events, the streets carry more of the load through ponding.

Nonetheless, the District has been actively investigating storm sewers in areas with recent reports of ponding to identify any impediments in the storm sewer system. To date, the District’s operator has investigated all such areas and no obstructions were found.

Please do not hesitate to contact the District with any further concerns. The District can be reached through its website at
